These boots were made for rollin'

I'm proud to be one of the newest members of the Anaheim Aces, training team for the OC Roller Girls!

My skates shipped today, which means I will be on wheels in 5-7 days. I feel like a kid waiting for xmas! I was planning to order from another highly recommended store, but Drew found me a fab deal at Roller Girl Rollerskates. I called and talked to Lisa today and she walked me through every single measurement for my skates, pads and helmet. She was so awesome! I ended up with Riedell 125s with Flat Out wheels and Kwik 7 bearings, a full set of ProTec Street pads, a ProTec Classic helmet, a skate tool and a mouthguard for $270. None of the other stores I looked at could come anywhere near that price. I was really amazed at the level of customer service they offered me too. Let's hope everything goes smoothly from here on out.

I want to know your favorite Etsy shops. What do you love about them? Here are a few of my favorites....

StoopidGerl does very cool stuff with sprinkles and I LOVE sprinkles!

Terra Maya makes some very cool purses. Love the sugar skulls and Sailor Jerry prints!

Fat Daddy Bake Shop makes the most amazing cupcakes in a jar. These are SERIOUS cupcakes for the hardcore sweet tooth. One bite and you will be hooked!

Cutie Dynamite makes the coolest little hair accessories.

Deorative Instincts sells really pretty aprons and table accessories for your inner Martha.

So Charmed sells all kinds of groovy one-of-a-kind jewelry. Love the lucky bracelet.

Maybe You Should Die sells very funny and inappropriate greeting cards. They also have these great little "mean bags" with offensive words on them to throw at others. I wish i had a set of these at one of my old jobs.

Flamestitch makes cool vintage inspired naugahyde purses, wallets and such. Love the Old Slut On Junk bag.

Ok, now it's your turn to post your favorites on your blog. Just leave a link to your blog in my comments so I can find you.

What does the future hold in store for you?

Remember this fun little guy? Well, last night my son brought one home in a birthday party goodie bag. Oh the memories! I was so excited to see this long lost tiny friend again. I don't know how it ever disappeared from my memory. When I was a kid it was such a big deal to win one at our school carnival. I really did believe it was magic too. I was always so careful to slip it gently back into it's little plastic pouch to protect it from harm before slipping it under my pillow. {sigh} Ok, enough embarrassing details from my childhood. Tell me... what brings back those sweet childhood memories for you?

Rockin' my new do

I'm so freakin' happy with my new hair color and cut. The super cool Hilary Landis at Salon Victoria in Irvine is a goddess with color. My hair is now dark chocolate with bright magenta streaks. It suits me and I am thrilled over it. It's not often I get super excited over how I look, but this just makes me happy happy happy! I haven't had bangs in a long time, but I'm glad I do now.

Concert Update for Suzanne

Freakin' cool! One of the coolest bloggers on my daily hit list just posted on my boring ol' blog. Why she reads it I will never know when her own is such an inspiring, funny and all around great read.(Emphasis Mine) She also writes for the OC Register (Alive In Wonderland) so check her out. My blog wants to be just like hers when it grows up. OK, now that I am done gushing over her I will answer her question.

Peter Murphy put on a fabulous show! I'm not just saying that because I had too many dirty martinis either. This was my third time seeing him perform live (once with Bauhaus) and I have always been impressed. His voice was flawless once again. He even sang a couple of Bauhaus songs that got the crowd really pumped up. Well, as pumped up as you can be at a goth show. The House of Blues was a great venue too because we were able to get up close and see really well. I look forward to his future shows.

(Hi Suzanne!)

Going to see Peter Murphy again. He's playing at the Anaheim House of Blues tonight.

I used to be so in love with him in high school. I thought he was just dreamy (in my own freaky nightmarish sort of way). I had such a thing for the heroine chic guys back then. The skinnier the better and make up was mandatory! Oh, the memories....

Lots of good old fashioned fun!

We spent an afternoon at the roller rink. The boys had never been on skates before so it was a kick to watch them stumble about. Cole did quite well, but Noah spent a lot of time inspecting the floor. They both loved it and want skates of their own.

We've also been splashing in the blow up pool in the front yard. Water balloons, squirt guns and the hose make it even more fun. I think we might need to add a slip-n-slide into the mix soon!

Today we went to the Tustin street fair and chili cook off. The weather was great and the chili was outstanding, especially the "Mishap Chili" made by a young lady from Riverside County. I am a sucker for jalapenos and her chili was loaded with 'em. They only give you tiny tasting cups, so I had to go back several times. I tried to talk her into letting me buy a whole pot from her, but she didn't seem interested in sales. Bummer! I'm craving it right now! She really deserved to win the contest. The best chili I have ever tasted - hands down! Sadly, the boys weren't interested in trying the chili so they gobbled up pizza and root beer floats before playing some carnival games. Speaking of the carnival games... Noah won a goldfish! On the way home we stopped to buy some food for the fish called Sweetie Pie and I couldn't resist buying him a couple of buddies (named Toggy & Kipper Snack).

How did you spend the weekend?
