Mark Ryden

I wanted to share some great artwork by an artist I love! His name is Mark Ryden and I think he is brilliant. I find these images oddly soothing and unsettling at the same time. Who can resist pink bunnies, Abe Lincoln and meat? Here are a whole bunch of images for your viewing pleasure (or not):

Club 33

We have had so many wonderful lunches and dinners at Club 33. That is why I am so excited to see our family photos up on the Club 33 (unofficial) site. I promised I would send them pics when we go again on March 5th. I wish I would have taken photos every time. That would be really cool. Why do I always think of these things after the fact? Go to Disneylandclub33.com and look in the member photo gallery of you care to see the old photos.

Our little Cole turns five next Monday. I just can't figure out where the time has gone. Next week we will be registering him for kindergarten. YIKES! He just finished two sessions of preschool so we are going to enroll him in Little Dragons Karate and some Li'l Rembrandt art classes. We may even take a kids cooking class together just for fun! I love our Rec Centers here in Anaheim. They offer tons of fabulous classes for kids and adults too.

Off to finish some more laundry...

Just a quick hello

Just popping in to say hello. How was your weekend?
We had a pretty great low-key weekend. Saturday we took the kiddos to see the Harlem Globetrotters at the Honda Center. Noah loved every second of it, but Cole lost interest pretty quickly. Sunday we had fabulous crepes for lunch and did some cuddling up on the couch.

Today, Cole and I surprised Drew at his office with lunch, flowers and a box of twinkies. He seemed to be having a lousy day and we just wanted to cheer him up and remind him that he is appreciated by his family. He left the office early to take Noah on his last cub scout field trip then back to the office he went. He should be home any moment and I have a steaming pot of beef stew waiting for him. It's the little things... right?

By the way, we still haven't decided on a vacation destination. All suggestions welcome!

Hope you all are feeling happy and healthy.

Happy Valentines Day

Back in November 2005 I wrote a long post about my amazing husband. I feel like I should cut and paste that message all over again. Drew really is the greatest love of my life and I am so thankful to have him by my side to be my valentine every day. He is strong, kind-hearted, sexy, funny, smart and thoughtful. I couldn't ask for anything more. I am the luckiest girl in the world!

In happier news

Sorry about the little rant. Had a bad day. Feeling better now.

So, today I am making plans for my Mom's birthday. She is turning 70 on February 28th so my siblings and I thought it would be fun to celebrate all month long. We each took one weekend of February to celebrate with Mom and our own family. We tried to cook up something all together but it was impossible with everyone's busy schedules and varied budgets. I think she is going to enjoy this much better anyway.

We are also considering taking a vacation this year. Not sure what we want to do yet. The boys will be 5 & 7 in March and some places just don't have enough stuff for small kids to do. We have talked about a Mexican cruise or an RV trip to Yosemite. We also thought it would be fun to hop on a train to somewhere. The cruise might be nice because we can take them to a kid zone and hit the spa! Please tell me about vacations you have taken with small kids. Where did you go? What did you do? So far we've only taken them to Mammoth (snow), Lake Arrowhead in the summer and last spring we went to Kauai. They travel really well and are patient so long trips aren't a problem.

Ok, gotta take a run to Costco for RedBull and juice boxes. Have a happy day! I am!

Some people don't get it

I can't help but be deep in thought today. Sometimes people do things that just blow your mind. I think some people don't care how their actions will affect others. I'm really struggling with accepting certain people and situations in my life. It's two steps forward and one step back. I'm annoyed and find myself turning colder to them. Every day I care a little bit less. Today is one of those days that makes me want to shut people out. Consider yourself warned... my patience is very limited and it's a battle for me to be kind and forgiving right now.
